His Excellency T.S. Tirumurti
Former President of the
United Nations Security Council

Mr. T. S. Tirumurti is a respected Indian diplomat and former Ambassador who served in the Indian Foreign Service for 37 years. His career is marked by several key achievements, notably as India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (2020-2022). During this critical period, he served as President of the UN Security Council in August 2021, where he presided over the adoption of the crucial UNSCR 2593 on Afghanistan. He also significantly chaired the UN's Counter-Terrorism Committee in 2022, as well as the Taliban and Libya Sanctions Committees.

Earlier in his distinguished career, he was appointed as the first-ever Representative of India to the State of Palestine. He also held key roles as High Commissioner to Malaysia and Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs, where he managed India's vast development partnership. A long-time climate change negotiator, Mr. Tirumurti is also credited with coining the term "Nationally Determined Contribution" (NDC), a cornerstone of the Paris Agreement. A scholar and author of three books, Mr. Tirumurti became a Distinguished Professor at IIT Madras after his retirement, continuing to contribute to the field of international relations.

Mr. Ahmed Javed, PPM, is a distinguished retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1980 batch. His career is marked by a rare and successful transition from law enforcement to diplomacy, notably serving as India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 2015 to 2019. In this critical diplomatic role, he was responsible for the welfare of one of the largest Indian expatriate communities and was widely praised for his effective supervision of the annual Hajj pilgrimage and for enhancing security cooperation.

Earlier in his distinguished police career, he served as the 39th Commissioner of Police, Mumbai. During this tenure, he was widely credited with modernizing the force’s public engagement by launching the highly popular Mumbai Police Twitter handle and establishing a dedicated Cyber Crime Police Station. He also held the crucial post of Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), where he managed the city's security response during the 2003 serial blasts.

A recipient of the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and an alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, Mr. Javed continues to contribute to public service as the Chancellor of Tripura University.

Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Ambassador Anil Trigunayat (IFS Retd) is a seasoned Indian diplomat with a distinguished career and deep expertise in West Asia. He notably served as India’s Ambassador to Jordan and Libya, and High Commissioner to Malta. A specialist in conflict zone diplomacy, he is particularly recognized for his efforts in securing and evacuating large numbers of Indian nationals from war-torn Libya, leveraging his extensive personal contacts in the region.

His ambassadorships were preceded by a critical tenure at the Ministry of External Affairs, where he served as Joint Secretary for the Gulf & Haj Divisions. In this role, he was instrumental in managing India's multifaceted relations with Gulf countries and overseeing the complex logistics of the annual Haj pilgrimage. His diplomatic service also included key postings in Côte d’Ivoire, Bangladesh, Mongolia, USA, Russia, Sweden, and Nigeria, as well as serving as Deputy Chief of Mission in Moscow.

A former Visiting Fellow at Oxford University, where he researched the "WTO and Regional Trading Blocs," Ambassador Trigunayat is now a Distinguished Fellow at the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF). He heads their West Asia Experts Group, continuing to be a prolific writer and a leading voice on economic diplomacy and regional security.

Retd. Indian Foreign Service Officer

Manjeev Singh Puri is a retired Indian diplomat with an extensive 36-year career, marked by high-level postings and a deep specialization in multilateral negotiations. He served as India’s Ambassador to Nepal (2017-2020) and as Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg (2014-2017), managing key strategic and economic partnerships.

His most significant contributions came from his multilateral work. As Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations (2009-2013), he was a senior member of India's team at the UN Security Council during its 2011-2012 term, handling critical issues including the Arab Spring, Syria, and peacekeeping reform.

Mr. Puri was one of India's foremost experts on climate change and sustainable development. He was a lead negotiator for India at the UN for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a key negotiator at the landmark UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) in 2012. He was also a lead member of India's delegation at major UNFCCC climate change conferences, including Copenhagen (2009), and was the point-person for the Major Economies Forum.

An alumnus of St. Stephen's College and JBIMS, he is now a Distinguished Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

Former Indian Ambassador to Nepal

Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey (Retd) is a highly decorated, combat-seasoned officer who retired after nearly 39 years of service. He is most renowned for his tenure as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the XV 'Chinar' Corps (2021-2022), where he oversaw a significant shift in counter-insurgency operations in Kashmir, focusing on breaking the "cycle of violence."

His command was defined by a powerful "awaam-centric" (people-first) approach. He was instrumental in bringing over 230 youths back from militancy through direct engagement with their families, championing the "Sahi Raasta" (Right Path) program. He spearheaded the "Tiranga Revolution," a movement to foster national unity, marked by the hoisting of a 100-foot national flag at Hari Parbat fort. His tenure also saw the launch of numerous youth-engagement initiatives, including the Kashmir Premier League and various environmental campaigns like 'Clean Dal & Jhelum'.

Prior to this, Lt Gen Pandey was appointed the first-ever Director General of the Territorial Army. He was tasked with its complete overhaul, recalibrating the force for "better operational and intelligence roles," particularly in strategic areas like the Andaman Islands. He also served as the Commandant of the Army War College, Mhow, leveraging his extensive combat experience to train future military leaders.

An alumnus of the NDA and IMA, he was commissioned into the 9th Sikh Light Infantry and has extensive operational experience, including commanding his battalion on the Siachen Glacier. For his distinguished service, he was awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) and the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM).

Dr. Srijan Pal Singh is a renowned Indian author, social entrepreneur, and innovation leader from Lucknow, best known for his work as an Advisor to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. An alumnus of La Martiniere College, Lucknow, and a gold medalist from IIM Ahmedabad, his career has been dedicated to transforming Dr. Kalam's visions into tangible action.

He is the founder and CEO of the Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Centre, a non-profit organisation that continues the former President's work. Through this centre, he has launched several major social initiatives, most notably the "Kalam Library Project," a movement that has established hundreds of free libraries across India for underprivileged children, becoming one of the world's largest free-library movements.

Beyond his work with Dr. Kalam, Dr. Singh is a prolific social innovator. He co-founded "Barefoot IT," an initiative to empower rural communities, which included the "e-Spandana" platform to digitally connect villagers with their elected representatives. He also established Homi Lab, a future-learning lab to train young minds in fields like AI, robotics, and space exploration.

For his extensive contributions to social service, including his work on the PURA initiative and the "What Can I Give Movement," a youth mission that mobilized over 500,000 volunteers, Dr. Singh was awarded the prestigious Young Alumni Achievers Award by IIM Ahmedabad.
